Corn-tastic Bioplastic Sheets
It looks and feels like plastic but it is NOT plastic. Confused? We created bioplastic! Completely plant-based made from corn kernels and vegetable waste, a corn bioplastic sheet forms the top layer of our period pads. The top sheet is also lined with tiny holes for a free flow of air and to avoid heat buildup during usage, a feature that adds to the breathability of our pads. The usage of corn-based bioplastic makes Pinkanee period pads 100% compostable, biodegradable, carbon neutral and sustainable.
Breathable & Antibacterial Bamboo Fibers
Bamboo is a wonder grass and often referred to as ‘green gold’ because of its manifold benefits! Naturally antibacterial, antifungal and super absorbent by nature, bamboo was the perfect fiber to compliment or soft organic cotton giving our pads an added layer of safety. The bamboo layer in our period pads emits oxygen and flushes out unwanted chemicals keeping them odour and allergy free even after 8+ hours of usage. Bamboo fibers are also soft and lightweight leaving room for greater air circulation and this makes them a comfortable alternative to regular mass-produced pads.
